Our Projects

The members of the Poli Business Group undertake an extensive learning journey provided by a series of projects that push them out of their comfort zone and make them develop new skills. Based on the principle of being a study group, GNPoli trains its members from the moment they join until their entry into the job market.
Trainee Cycle
The Trainee Cycle is the project that consolidates what the Poli Business Group truly is: a study group focused on the capacitation with excellence of its members.
During the first semester of permanence in the group, the trainees will be submitted to an elevated load of classes and evaluations that aim to construct the basic notions of business. To consolidate this in only 6 months, the trainees pass through the following capacitation modules:
1.
Corporate Management
In this initial module the Trainees gain knowledge of concepts of business management and entrepreneurship.

2.
Economics and Financial Market
In this module, the Trainees establish their first contact with basic concepts of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.

3.
Excel
In this module, the Trainees develop advanced Excel abilities, a fundamental tool for future financial modeling courses.

4.
Accounting
In this module, the members are capacitated in fundamental concepts of accounting. Tests are also conducted to guarantee the comprehension of the content.
5.
PowerPoint
In this module, the members are capacitated in fundamental concepts of PowerPoint presentation, an essential tool in presentations and competitions.

6.
Sectoral Analysis
In this module, the members are capacitated in concepts of sectoral analysis, understanding the influence of drivers and factors that affect market dynamics.

7.
Corporate Analysis
In this module, the members are introduced to diverse techniques and concepts of corporate analysis. Utilizing the entire framework previously constructed, they execute a financial case study in a group.

8.
Valuation
In this module, the trainees are introduced to the concepts of valuation. During the classes, an individual valuation of a company selected by the group is developed.

The Internal Competition of the Poli Business Group is the moment that symbolizes the conclusion of the Trainee Cycle. During the period of academic vacations of the Polytechnic School of USP, the members are submitted to a challenge in the Equity Research model, inspired by the greatest student challenges, in order to put into practice all the knowledge absorbed during the development process.
At the end of the competition, the participating members have the opportunity to present their works to a panel of judges formed by renowned figures in the market, who concede their time to listen to the analyses made by the members and select a winning work.

Advanced Cycle
After the Trainee Cycle, the group members begin to participate in regular meetings, in which the members get together to discuss and deepen their knowledge in a specific course related to business.
The Advanced Cycle is an initiative that aims to refine the analytical and strategic abilities of the members. Three editions are conducted throughout a semester, each with a specific scope: Financial Market, Consultancy, and Entrepreneurship.
Immersion Hubs
Upon completing the Advanced Cycle, senior members are given the opportunity to join study groups for those who want to gain in-depth knowledge of specific sectors, such as investment banking and asset management.
Throughout the Immersion Hubs, we are always seeking to build new partnerships that align our content with market requirements, aiming to specialize our members and help them stand out.

Working Days
Site visits to our partner firms, providing full exposure to the day-to-day operations of professionals at major corporations.
We consider these experiences essential to have a comprehensive understanding of all market sectors to ensure our members can make well-informed career decisions.
Corporate Talks
Events held throughout the semester by the group, open to the entire USP community, where we host distinguished guests to speak on a wide range of topics.
Engaging with leading market figures is undoubtedly a major source of inspiration for our members, who, through these encounters, realize that a successful career path is attainable for everyone.

News & Trends
Meetings held every two weeks, in which members discuss the most relevant business news in English.
Staying up to date with the latest developments and practicing communication skills in a foreign language is a way to further enhance our members capabilities and set them apart in an increasingly globalized market.
Book Club
Meetings held every two weeks to discuss insights from the selected book of the semester, focusing on business-related literature.
Reading is a powerful tool for developing analytical skills while learning from the trajectories of prominent business leaders. Some of our previous readings have included: The Lean Startup (Eric Ries), Crash (Alexandre Versignassi), Valuation (Damodaran); among others.
